thesubstream is an interactive community of filmmakers, video enthusiasts and movie lovers centered around two video channels that cater to a common obsession for watching and making better movies.

THE FILM LAB channel of thesubstream is home to helpful and informational edutainment episodes about the art, science and practice of filmmaking on a small budget. We feature gear guides, techniques and how-to series about pre-production, production and post-production. We even cover the boring-a## stuff that nobody really wants to hear about, like legal issues, budgeting and how and why extras will bleed you dry through the power of their greed.
